Asset based lending is a form of corporate finance based upon the assets owned by a business rather than cash generated by it. Facility levels are dependent upon the value of the borrower’s sales ledger or trade receivables, its stock, plant & machinery and property assets. In certain instances, facilities can even be provided in respect of intangible assets, comprising brand names and intellectual property. Current clients include medium to large corporate borrowers with requirements in the United Kingdom, Europe and North America. Importantly, an asset based facility does not necessitate a change in clearing bank, enabling important relationships to be maintained. A minimum facility size of £5million is applicable. |

Asset based lending is most useful whenever a business:
- faces seasonal demand,
- enjoys significant growth,
- experiences impaired profitability,
- suffers capital erosion through loss,
- undergoes operational restructuring.
